What seems to be the last movie that the King of Comedy will star in is gathering a lot of flak from critics. Dolphy’s RVQ Productions made Father Jejemon, Dolphy’s entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), with controversial scenes that made a lot of Catholic movie goers cringe.
Although the official start of the MMFF is on Christmas day, the teasers have shown scenes from the movie that sparked a heated debate between the Catholic faithfuls. Two scenes in particular are a little bit off as far as some critics are concerned. One is when the lady who is in line to partake of the Holy Eucharist suddenly found herself in a situation where the Eucharist was accidentally dropped right smack in the middle of her breasts. And the other scene that is being commented upon is when the Eucharist got stuck in the dentures of an old parishioner.
For the devoted Catholics, these two particular scenes are considered as an insult to the highest degree. As the Eucharist symbolizes the body of Christ, making fun of it is deemed sacrilegious and a direct insult in the Catholic faith. Some Catholics have began a text brigade urging their fellow believers to boycott the movie Jejemon as their way of signifying their disappointment with the movie.
To this Dolphy has humbly asked for forgiveness and has informed the public and the MTRCB that they are voluntarily editing the said scenes in question so that everything is made right. Dolphy’s only wish is that the Catholic faithful will still watch Father Jejemon especially as this will most probably be his last movie.

RVQ productions, how dare you insult the Catholic religion, which is one of many Christian religions. You may not be Catholics but still you are Christians and yet you made this movie. Its downright disgusting. What you did is completely unacceptable- BLASPHEMY is what you did, in case you did not research. You also insulted the intelligence of the Filipinos. Thank goodness, this is the last movie of Dolphy, this time its NOT funny.
